President's Report – Booster Bash

Treasurer’s Report – Finances are equal with last year.

Membership Report  - no report

SpartanWear Report –  Great gross sales of $4,400 at the Freshman Activity Night. Field house was a good set up for the sales and the event. Checking inventory, planning on a clearance sale at Spring Fest. Ordered new men and women’s baseball hats. Planning to streamline inventory in the future.

Yard Sign Report – Brian held a pick up in February.  Gross sales over $8,200.  Lots of orders for spring, but needs warm temperature to paint the new orders. The Booster Club needs to find a replacement for Brian Sullivan.  Susan Fraser suggested a team of dads, asked for people to think of a candidate(s).

Concessions –  Susan explained to the new spring reps that Jamie Werhane is the Booster Board concession contact.

Booster Bash  - Suzanne Kahn thanked the committee, special thanks to Tiffany Sybert. The event was very successful, estimated $28,000 profit with 247 attendees.  One last item to sell, contact Suzanne if interested.

Team Rep Liaison – Russell Rosenberg to hold a brief meeting with the spring team reps at the end of the Booster Club meeting.

Team Reports

Boys Volleyball – Team reps for all levels have been secured, trying to schedule team pasta party.

Boys Tennis – still need team reps for all levels.

·         Tryouts were completed at the end of February/early March

·         Three teams: Varsity, JV, and Frosh/soph

·         94 boys playing lacrosse this spring

·         We have three varsity booster reps (Bridget, Gina, Kellie), two JV booster reps (Amy Sullivan and Karin Wilcox), and two frosh/soph booster reps (Sharon Latek and Julie Gertz)

·         All-level pizza party was last Friday, March 10

·         All three teams have games before spring break (this weekend!), but none at the main field

·         Varsity going to OH the end of spring break

Athletic Director's Report – GBN is hosting the indoor girls conference and boys indoor conference meets on Thursday and Friday.  We have three teams for every spring sport, which is positive. In past, struggled to get three teams for every sport. Book sale moving online for GBS and GBN, which will negatively impact the Booster Club membership sales. Booster Club membership will be offered on the online sign up, but have to anticipate numbers down.

Football admission prices expected to increase this fall. GBN Football admission prices have not been raised in 17 years.  CSL conference vote coming up to raise rates to $5 adults $3 children from $3 and $2. GBN also has to start charging admissions for girls basketball games since we charge for boys basketball games.

GBN is experiencing several teacher retirements, so interviews taking place around the school.  Starting next year 6-8 retirements per year for a long stretch. Need to continue focus on hiring teachers who are also interested in coaching and running clubs. John feels its important to have coaches that are also teachers versus hiring outside coaches. All coaches are reviewed on an annual basis.

Susan Fraser adjourned the meeting at 8:05 pm.
