Fall Sports Awards Thursday, November 13th - Starts 6:30 in the CPA. we are going to be handing out a list of our present membership with a membership form attached to the program. have 760 members to date. down from last year. we are hoping this will entice parents who have not joined at this time to join. we are down around 70 members from this time last year. also team reps MUST be members. we understand that some parents don’t join until their child is in a sport - i.e. winter/spring vs. fall.
Winter Sports Jamboree November 14th - Starts in the CPA at 6:00. General meeting then break out into team meetings, scrimmages etc. will do a membership push at Jamboree as well. (burnsides) - at night. we will have concession stand open. Jim Allen will grill, sportswear and membership will be there 6:00-6:45 only then go to CPA - Jamie and Patti will have food there.
CSL Booster Club Meeting: was a wonderful meeting. learned various fund raising ideas. We had the #2 money raiser with the Bash. Maine West holds a 4 day carnival in June - raises $50,000. Another idea - 1/2 court shot contest at games. End of November Debate tournament here- we are considering opening our indoor concession stands. working with Debate. As a fundraiser - raffle off reserved parking spots for football game at the Booster Bash. Also - Booster Key Card - GBS puts sponsor on them - 2-3 on each charges $600 each sponsor. Worth looking into for GBN.
Treasurer’s Report: (Marty) all running smoothly. thank you for getting in your paper work. however I need to know if you are doing a party who you are ordering from - i.e. getting Jets pizza bills - no idea which team, also finding out its for more than the athletes. please remember - we only pay $7.00 per athlete. we do not cover parents/siblings etc. passed out financials. through Oct 31st. revenues across board are down - expenses are the same as last year. We have received our book sale revenue. clothing numbers are deceiving because last year we had inventory that Becks donated to us to sell.
Membership report (Anna) as of Oct 31st 761 members, last year at this time had 835.
Previous year 858. So doing a major push at sports awards and winter jamboree. Discussion - should we send out the list of members to entire school in body of email? A week later after jamboree then a reminder/follow-up?
Spartanwear (Joy, Elliot, Michael) packed up shed, brought everything inside. We are looking to come up with a sale date for the holidays. Will find dates that there are multiple sports going on at the same time to sell before the holidays. Also will discuss putting some items on line. We have a meeting next week to look into an order for next year. Looking to put together a Logo library that we would control vs. our vendors. Make sure Spartan head face same way etc.

Varsity: The team was the IHSA conference champions. They placed 2nd behind New Trier in the Regional Tournament held at Sportsman’s CC and then were very happy to play very well and place third at the Sectionals held at behind Loyola and New Trier. This allowed us to move onto the State Tournament which was held at THE DEN AT FOX CREEK in Bloomington, IL on October 17 and 18th. It was truly an amazing experience to be a part of the State Tourney. Had a team send off dinner and a crowd waving the bus off.. Conditions and course were both tough. Boys played their hearts out. We didn’t place as high as we hoped, but ended up 9th in the State. And we place ahead of Loyola which did feel good. There were great moments and a true sense of pride in being there. This is a very close knit team and they enjoyed the experience to its fullest. Coach Gerbich shared with us that he received many compliments on how supportive, respectful and downright fun our boys were on the course. Spartan pride all the way! It’s something I’ll never forget and I know the boys won’t either.
