PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Welcome and introductions. We have been lucky so far with weather, but Please make sure your parents have the following information:

· Relay for Life - June 13th: Dr. Jean Witty – once again will be doing the Relay for Life Purple Stakes, $20 - $10 goes to Relay and $10 t0 Booster. They only sold 10 last year. But so far looking better. Has asked Brian to paint the stakes before the event and will have kids spray paint the letters (they painted last year). Also last year was a separate form. This year will just say Relay for Life – not Relay 2014. We will be in lobby at spring sports awards with forms. Can pick them up at Relay event or in the fall Thank you for letting me come and speak at your meeting.
· Booster Club Scholarships – (john) Coaches recommend athletes then all coaches vote. – 6 seniors total, 2 from each season. This is the second year we are offering these, $500 each. Boy coaches vote for boys and girls for girls. Minimum required criteria: must have attended GBN for at least 2 years, student must be in good standing and carry a min. GPA of 2.5, have participated in a recognized GBN sport for at least 2 seasons and have been nominated for consideration for a scholarship award by their coach. We had many nominated this year.
· Senior Athletic Banquet at Northbrook Hilton - Thursday, June 4th 6pm – invitations have gone out
· Spring Sports Awards Night – Tuesday, June 2nd 6:30 pm
Next Booster Club Meeting – Monday, June 8th at 5:30pm DINNER
Treasurer’s Report: (Marty) final Booster Bash numbers are in approx. $25,000 profit. A little under last year’s numbers. Concessions have finally caught up. Team Donations are up from last few years. Thank you to the Executive board and all the team reps for their push on getting these numbers up. We are around $20,000 short in terms of cash flow generated from last year.
Secretary’s Report: (Lauri) Please sign the attendance sheet before you leave; you only need to add your email if this is your first meeting of the school year. Thank you to those who emailed in your reports. It is very helpful. There are blank ones available for anyone who needs one. Please hand in your report before you leave. I apologize, for not having the minutes from April; they will be posted as soon as they are approved. Thank you for understanding.
Membership report: (Ron) next year membership fee is staying the same. Activity pass/key cards will change a bit. As discussed before we are in the process of getting sponsors and will have 2 per card. Around $600 per sponsor, we are looking for a few more. GBS does this – will give advertisement to our sponsors. Please let Ron or Russell know if you may have anyone interested. Also, we are working on premium gift for our gold sponsors for next year.
Concessions Report: no report
Spartanwear report: (Joy) 8th Grade sale is in full swing. Makes a perfect graduation gift. introduced Tiffany Sybert who will be transitioning next year to take over Spartanwear 2016-2017 school year. She will also be bringing 8th grade parents to the committee.
Yard Signs Report: (emailed in by Brian) All orders before 4/25 have had a chance to pick up their signs and stakes. Have about 10 new orders that should be able to deliver in a week if weather holds up. Almost $10,000 in sales this year!!!!
Boys Gymnastics: Have $45 for booster club donation. Conference meet Corey Snyder took 1st on floor, Parallel bars and all around. 3rd high Bar. Varsity placed 4th. Sectionals (5/7) Corey took 1st on Pommel horse and rings, 3rd all around. Noah Berkowitz placed 4th on floor. Both boys have automatic bids to compete at State meet this Friday and Saturday at Hinsdale Central. Cory will compete in all around and also individual events (pommel, rings, floor and vault) Noah will compete in floor and vault
Varsity: 20 wins, 5 losses. Doing well in conference: overall 9 and 2 in conference play and 5 and 1 for CSL north. We Beat undefeated Lake Forest 11-0, had a triple play and scored 10 runs in one inning. Senior night was May 7th. The Playoff seating’s will be announced tomorrow. Conference play continues over next 2 weeks, every game counts. Play Nazareth (ranked 10th in state) on Wednesday, Come out and watch. June 11th is our end of year banquet at Marcello’s.
JV: 7 wins, 4 losses, 1 tie - Split with New Trier
Sophomore: 12 wins, 9 losses overall, 7 and 3 in conference, 6 and 0 in CSL north. Beat GBS.
Playing Niles west and not Nazareth due to NW having a makeup conference game.
Freshman A: 17 wins, 5 losses
Freshman B: 5 wins, 15 losses
Varsity: lost all but 2, a bit of a rough year. Won both vs. Highland Park. Playing with a very short roster they are doing their best. Senior night was tonight but rained out so will be on Monday. Thank you.
JV: 3 wins, 5 losses
Freshman: 9 wins, 4 losses
Varsity: 7 wins 3 losses – only lost 1 in conference; we are ranked in top 5 in state. Liberty Bell invite GBN took 1st place (team), Harlem Invitational- first place (team), Hersey Pitchford Invite lost by one point to take second. Both Zakhodin and Perez had reached their 100th GBN career win and are currently undefeated for the season. Upcoming events: CSL conference tournament at Deerfield 5/15- 5/16, Sectional in 5/22-5/23 and State is 5/28-5/30
JV: 11 wins, 1 loss, Play tomorrow in Libertyville then CSL north conference is this weekend.
Frosh/Soph Gold Team: 4 wins, 4 losses. Over the weekend the freshman played in an 8 team freshman invite at Maine west and won. Last meet will be Tuesday vs. Libertyville at wood Oaks.
5 girls qualified for state tournament. 1 junior for singles and 2 doubles teams. (1st time in GBN history)
Varsity: 5 wins, 7 losses, 2 ties. Regionals are next week
JV: 8 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie
Frosh: 9 wins, 4 losses
Lots of rain outs. Conference is Friday, Sectionals Thursday the 21st.
Conference last Thursday, qualified in 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash (Adducci broke the minute) Sectionals this Thursday at Loyola
Varsity: tied for first in conference, took 3rd at Varsity Invite. Senior night is Thursday.
JV: great season, took first at Wheaten Warrenville invitational.
Frosh A: 11 wins, no losses. Took 2nd in both Lake Forest and Stevenson Invitational’s. 5 pasta parties, kids all getting along great.
Frosh B: lost 1 match to Deerfield.
Girls Water Polo
Varsity: 14 wins, 1 loss, took 3rd at CSL invite. Won Conference North! We are seeded 2nd for sectionals
Boys Water Polo
Sectionals this week.
Varsity: 12 wins, 5 losses. Lost to Loyola in overtime. 3 and 0 on spring break trip. Big win over GBS and Highland Park. Team is currently ranked 2nd in state on Lax power and 3rd on IHSLA. Had a mom and me day with players and moms at Red’s Flowers. Playoffs are approaching as well as another Pasta Party.
JV: 5 wins, 8 losses. Very positive
Freshman: 7 wins, 3 losses
Varsity: 12 wins, 7 losses
JV: 9 wins, 4 losses, 2 ties. 8 game winning streak ended on 5/5 with a tie to Maine South.
Frosh/Soph: 10 wins, 4 losses, 2 ties.
Athletic Director’s report (John)
We will be hosting Regional soccer on 5/19 (4:30 and 7:00) with Championship game on
5/22 at 7:00 pm. Also hosting Girls State Lacrosse games June 5th 3:00 for 3rd place and 7:00 for Championship. We will be doing concessions for all the games. Then leave drinks in the outdoor concession stand for Relay for Life on the 13th.
CSL still looking at teams to decide which school will be added for the 2016/2017 season when Waukegan leaves. Should have a decision by end of school year.
