Lori and Mark Spencer opened the meeting at 7:05pm
Board Members: Lori Spencer, Mark Spencer, Beth Gavin-Pearson, Tiffany Sybert, Greg Pleszkun, Cathy Burnham, Heather Wilensky, Julie Henry, Dave MacMillin, Mary Beth Fahrney, Matt Purdy, Paul Vignocchi
Team Reps and Guests: Suzanne Zera, Jojo Hebl, Johanna Silver, Kirsten Crispin, Carla Martens
Lori thanked all of the Fall sports team reps for their time and energy during the season, and welcomed the new reps for the upcoming Winter season sports teams.
Lori thanked those involved in helping to make the Fall Sports Awards and Winter Jamboree events a success, including membership, Spartanwear, concessions and jamboree committees.
Team representatives can start collecting winter team funds and give it to Beth. There are forms on gbnbooster.org for deposits and reimbursements.
New winter team representatives are being finalized and all new email addresses will be added to the meeting reminder distribution list, sent with the team result form. The form can certainly be filled out and brought to the meetings in a hard copy, but an electronic copy emailed is preferred if possible.
There are approximately 600 booster club members to date. Approximately 60 people have not picked up their membership packets from Cathy. Representatives will plan to be at the first home games of boys and girls basketball and the wresting match to get members to sign up vs pay per game.
BOOSTER BASH REPORT
The Booster Bash will be held Saturday March 9, 2019 at Joe’s Live in Rosemont. The committee members had a follow up meeting with Joe’s on Monday October 15, 2018 for planning.
The first hour will be downstairs, then we have the upstairs for 3 hours reserved just for our party. There will be a photo booth and a band named RON BURGUNDY’s with songs and sounds of the 80’s. Hotel reservations are available with a brunch voucher at Bub City for $123 per night.
We need a lot of volunteers to help with donations, day set up, night set up and get the word out to invite everyone.
There will be a spring JAMBOREE, geared mostly towards the freshman. We are narrowing down the best date that would accommodate most of the sports. We really want to hype up the energy by engaging the ‘down by the river boys’ or other spirit to the event.
We sold 61 Shermerville hats and ordered 120 extra. Save Ferris shirts are all SOLD and we will not be ordering more. Pompom fleece lined GBN hats are coming in too. Representatives will be selling November 30 and December 21 at home games. Reminder to buy for Holiday gifts!
We have done a great job at limiting waste, only a few perishable items remain as leftovers from concession purchases. We are in the process of repairing the helium tank for various balloon festivities.
Most of the orders have been filled and picked up. We are able to make a yard sign with 1, 2, or 3 stakes and custom wording is allowed. Also, yard signs can be fixed or we can add stakes for existing signs.
Party boxes are available, Janice distributed a list of who has and has not picked up the supplies.

No one made it to state, but Freshman Kamila Nowak missed the cut by 1/100th of a second!! Girls will participate in off season club team to come back older, stronger and hungry for the state cuts.

Girls Freshman Basketball (A and B teams):
The GBN Freshman A Team has been practicing for 2 weeks and was excited to have their first official game on Monday night, November 12th. They played Maine South and lost 48-41. There are 7 girls on the team, so there will be a lot of playing time for everyone involved.
The Freshman A and Freshman B teams are practicing together, no freshman girls were cut from basketball this year.
